DRM - Reception logs | Making some tests today... |
---------------
Conclusions for now:
- Connection from Sony to Mixer to be improved (SNR too low).
- Sony receiver is not compatible with Netvista monitor screen (causing
much noise)
- Thinkpad computer battery charger is causing too much noise.
---------------
First trial using Sony ICF2001D receiver.
Direct pickup point as indicated by LA6XJ in DRMRX forum
(pin 7 of IC1 - Photos posted by LA6XJ: ph1,
ph2, ph3)
I first continued using my Thinkpad computer (two new things at the
same time was not a good idea) until I realised that the battery charger
of the computer was causing a lot of trouble.
Also I am testing using RTL 6095 who recently moved to 20.9 kbps
and I don't have much experience with receiving this bitate here...
First direct connection from Sony pickup point to mixer input showed
level was far too high. I found that I could get a (somehow)
usable signal
by just holding the two wires in my hand, without electrical contact!
(reaching 20/21dB):

For the above reason I just tried a transformer
coupling, winding a few
loops of wire on a toroid material. This was
the result (ok but too low):

Then tried TS440, still with Thinkpad.
Reaching 23dB without charger, then down to
15dB with charger plugged (8h35).
8h40 unplugging charger, much better.
